The Nuwa Pen is one of those technological inventions that seem to have come straight out of a 2000s cartoon depicting the future.

As advanced as digital writing has become today, there are still those who prefer to write things down on paper. But even then, you might find yourself needing those notes on your computer to send a document or email to someone.

This is where the Nuwa Pen comes in. This pen boasts impressive technology that is able to digitize everything you write on paper and transfer it to an app using computer vision.

The creation combines a standard D1 ballpoint ink cartridge with artificial intelligence, using motion sensors to transfer the written words to the Nuwa+ app.

“Writing is one of the most human acts. Many of the most extraordinary ideas and literature in history were written by hand, not typed,” explained Marc Tuinier, CEO and founder of Nuwa Pen, in a press release.

Unveiled at CES 2025, the technology is set to launch next month. The pen will retail for $295, with pre-orders already available for its beta version. More than 5,000 units of the Nuwa Pen have already been reserved.
